OCD/BDD Lead Therapist

Location: Central London

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced OCD/BDD Lead Therapist to manage our client's OCD/BDD group therapy programme. This role involves overseeing both inpatient and day therapy programmes, ensuring a safe environment for patients, and promoting continuous development of therapy services. The successful candidate will act as a liaison with the wider therapy department and ensure that treatment models are evidence-based and consistent with best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the OCD/BDD group therapy programme.
  • Oversee the delivery of inpatient and day therapy programmes.
  • Provide clinical and managerial supervision to the therapy team.
  • Lead the strategic development of therapy programmes and implement new modalities.
  • Manage a caseload of patients, including planning and evaluating interventions.
  • Ensure efficient management of team resources, including attendance and leave.
  • Communicate therapists’ concerns and suggestions to the Therapy Services Manager.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Therapy Services Manager.
  • Foster an open and honest dialogue within the therapy department.
  • Mentor new staff and lead on audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Training and Development:

  • Support mandatory training and conduct performance reviews.
  • Identify and address areas for skills development within the team.
  • Deliver training in OCD/BDD specialism for new team members.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Completion of postgraduate training in cognitive behaviour therapy.
  • Full accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
  • Core professional registration (e.g., psychology, nursing, social work) or equivalent recognition through BABCP.
  • Knowledge and experience in assessment, formulation, and treatment of OCD and related disorders.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and in an acute mental health setting.
  • Previous management experience and ability to supervise and mentor health professionals.
