The OpportunityWe're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SALT to join our growing team and help shape the future of our school. You'll work closely with our dedicated teaching staff, families, and therapy colleagues to support the communication development of pupils with complex needs.
What You'll Be Doing- Delivering targeted and universal speech and language therapy interventions across a diverse caseload.
- Conducting assessments, developing detailed therapy plans, and producing high-quality reports (including contributions to EHCPs and annual reviews).
- Embedding communication strategies into classroom practice and supporting staff to create communication-friendly learning environments.
- Running 1:1, group, and class-based therapy sessions tailored to pupil needs.
- Offering training, coaching, and day-to-day support for teaching and support staff.
Essential:
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
- Experience working with children with Autism and/or complex communication needs (ideally in SEN or educational settings)
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Experience in a school-based or newly opened provision
- Familiarity with AAC, PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH
- Previous experience contributing to EHCPs and participating in annual reviews
