Therapeutic educational practitioner

Engage Education is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join a team in Southwark that works with neurodiverse young people, aged 11-19, who have complex profiles. The role involves providing therapeutic, community-based education to children with various needs, including SEMH, ASD, mental health issues, and anxiety. These pupils are unable to attend traditional school settings due to challenging behaviors or mental health concerns. The successful candidate will work closely with students to develop personalized plans that cater to their individual needs and progress at a pace that suits them.

This position requires resilience, determination, and adaptability, as it is community-based and involves frequent movement. Travel will primarily be from the hub to students' homes and local areas. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience working with high-risk young people. Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have strong de-escalation skills and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
