  • Drive measurable outcomes for communications programs and projects and ensure the development of long-term strategic plans that match its overarching business goals
  • Contribute to the development of external communications strategies to captivate global and regional audiences through compelling written and visual media to build our client's image and brand identity
  • Develop creative, public communications, and media relations plans, including setting goals, budgets, and tactics to improve consumer and Key Opinion Former perception of our client with leadership oversight
  • Own the development of end-to-end external communications, crafting messages, pitches, and story angles (e.g., executive thought leadership pieces for industry publications and social media
  • Design and execute external comms campaigns, including making decisions on priorities and budgets
  • Understand the desired target audiences and business goals to tailor communications, including writing style and channels
Key Areas:ChallengeBuild new external communications processes, procedures, and methods with foresight to anticipate and address future issues.Identify the gap between what the outside world expects from our client and the company’s actions, using data and measurement tools.InfluenceInfluence across own team and cross-functional teams with sometimes competing objectives to align resources and direction.Establish and maintain rich relationships internally, within business and product areas, and externally, with media representatives and other KOFs.Work with our client's agencies on landing strategically important positive media coverage, as well as with journalists and influencers to positively impact coverage and perceptions of our client.Guide the integration of multiple parallel communications activities expertiseAct as a subject matter specialist within our client's external communications ecosystems with comprehensive knowledge of communications principles and tools, measurement processes, external audiences, traditional and emerging communication channels, and best practices, with the ability to write in plain language and use our clients voice.Responsibilities under the direction of Manager:Act as a business or product area spokesperson and represent a business or product area, acting as a spokesperson.Agency managementManage agencies for programs by defining objectives, identifying key tasks or work streams, providing content, and establishing and monitoring budgets.Bring the voice of the outside world to our client, represent comms perspective within cross-functional PA and business areas, acting as the voice of the outside world.Build and maintain reporter relationshipsRespond to editorial inquiries and requests for information release. Support the angle of the story and work with the journalist to provide additional information.Coach executives on PR and external commsCoordinate and facilitate interviews and review briefing materials to prepare key spokespeople for cross-functional comms, coaching execs on PR and external comms to be an effective spokes person.Develop and execute communications plans, and refine key messagesSupport the development of communication strategies to keep the public informed of our client's programs, products, accomplishments, or points of view. Drive development of high-quality comms plans and materials (e.g., emails, press releases, pitches, marketing copy, announcements, presentations articles, and social media content) to publicize and promote communications and public relations programs, facilities, events, or objectives amongst external audiences.Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Ability to develop messaging for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to understand goals and corresponding levers to grow crucial business metrics, understanding the value that it brings to stakeholder
  • Ability to move quickly to manage crisis comms
  • Ability to understand the audience, assess current landscape, and persona, and develop comms to influence audiences and achieve desired measurable outcomes
  • Ability to manage, represent, and influence executives
  • Understanding of developing a response to competitive tech and media landscape (or relevant subject area landscape), outside-in perspective, news cycle, and policies
  • Ability to build relationships with media, influencers, and editorial stakeholders and cultivate those relationships
  • Ability to understand trends in the tech industry and react to them from external comms
  • Ability to digest information and derive meaningful insights and message
  • Ability to communicate a concept, process, or data that satisfies our client's long-term strategic goals by allowing the facilitation of planning and communication over global businesses
