Job Purpose Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for driving change? Join our dynamic team as a Senior Communications Officer (Integration) and play a pivotal role in supporting our integration programme. You'll develop and implement innovative communication strategies to engage staff across various channels on integration and other strategic change projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and Drive Strategy:Craft and execute internal communications strategies for the integration programme and its workstreams.
  • Collaborate with Teams:Partner with the Integration Programme team and colleagues across different workstreams to communicate integration priorities effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Identify key stakeholders within Professional Service Departments and Schools to cascade key messages and gather feedback.
  • Simplify Complex Messages:Translate technical information into clear, actionable communications.
  • Regular Strategy Reviews:Meet with the Communications Manager and Integration Change Manager to ensure alignment and inclusion of all relevant messages.
  • Strategic Advice:Provide communications advice to stakeholders on integration-related issues.
  • Consistent Messaging:Ensure timely and consistent communications across all channels, aligning with key messages.
  • Support Schools and Departments:Offer strategic internal communications support to Schools and Professional Services Departments.

Key Activities

  • Integration of New School:Support the integration of the new unified School of Health & Medical Sciences.
  • Professional Services Support:Assist departments like IT, HR, Finance, and Property and Facilities with their internal communications.
  • Collaborate with Student Communications:Align activities with the Student Communications teams where appropriate.
  • Manage SharePoint Site:Keep the Merger and Integration Sharepoint site up to date and accurate.
  • Engagement Activities:Work with the Integration Programme team and Marketing & External Relations to deliver engagement activities and events.
  • Feedback Mechanisms:Improve feedback mechanisms through staff engagement and stakeholder mapping.
  • Joint Communications:Develop joint communications with professional services partners and schools.
  • Measurement and Evaluation:Apply techniques to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and continuously improve strategies.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in change communications for the public sector in a large organisation and ideally in the HE sector.
