- Collaborating with the buying team to plan and select the right mix of products.
- Analysing sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs.
- Monitoring stock movement, considering promotional activities and seasonal demand changes.
- Working closely with visual display staff and department heads to decide how goods should be displayed to maximise sales.
- Forecasting profits and sales, and optimising sales volume and profitability of designated product areas.
- Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts to managers.
- Keeping an eye on slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary.
- Maintaining awareness of competitors' performance and market trends in the retail industry.
