We are looking for a Procurement Manager who will manage and influence procurement activities within a specific portfolio, focusing on technology and software. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to cost savings and efficiency improvements while working with a dynamic team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage a spend of approximately £7-10 million, ensuring value for money, compliance, resilience, and improvement in value from suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Senior Supply Chain and Procurement Manager to develop and deliver a category plan that aligns with stakeholder requirements, business priorities, and potential risks.
- Engage with suppliers to address business challenges through robust competitions and prepare contract documentation for review and approval.
- Negotiate agreements and service levels to ensure maximum value and compliance with legal and business development requirements.
- Support bid teams by assisting with the supplier selection process and identifying suitable suppliers.
- Provide commercial input and practice excellent contract management with suppliers.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through effective stakeholder management plans and influence compliance.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and provide ad-hoc training on procurement processes.
- Offer expert commercial advice related to procurement and supply chain activities, proposing solutions and supporting policy, process, and performance changes.
- Experience managing procurement projects.
- Proven track record of continuous improvement in value and cost reductions.
- Strong understanding of technology and its value in procurement.
- Experience working closely with stakeholders and/or suppliers to deliver projects on time.
- Purchasing qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify and manage risks.
- Driving Licence & Ability to travel throughout the UK.
Desirable:
- MCIPS qualification or degree in purchasing.
- Experience in the outsourced services or health services sector.
- Knowledge of the technology or software sector.
