About the Role
As a Procurement Manager, you will:
Manage and coordinate procurement activities across the university, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and value for money.Partner with academic and operational teams, including the Programme Development Group (PDG) and Infrastructure & Capital Board (ICB), to deliver timely and effective procurement solutions.Lead large-scale tenders, including catering, utilities, and IT, while supporting smaller tenders and ad hoc requests.Develop and maintain key systems such as the contract register, tender waiver register, and conflict of interest register.Provide expert advice and training to staff on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:CIPS qualification (or currently studying) - MCIPS ideallyExperience leading tender processes from requirements gathering to contract signatureStrong drafting skills for tender documents and policiesFamiliarity with public procurement frameworks and compliance requirementsProficiency with IT tools and systems, including MS Office and procurement softwareExcellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholdersExperience working in the public sector
Desirable:Knowledge of higher education or further educationExperience with systems like Agresso or similar finance/procurement platforms
