We are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Governance and Capability Manager to oversee the development of materials and processes that ensure compliance with the Procurement Act and other regulations. This role is ideal for someone focused on enhancing procurement-led and user-led sourcing and developing governance frameworks.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the development and maintenance of all procurement-related policies, processes, and sourcing systems to ensure compliance with the Procurement Act and other regulations.
  • Manage the production and upkeep of the contract register system.
  • Develop a capability roadmap and action plan to address the training and skill development needs of the procurement team.
  • Oversee the creation of outward-facing materials to promote procurement activity and ensure user compliance.
  • Monitor and report on compliance metrics, procurement cycle times, and other key performance indicators as part of a balanced scorecard approach.
  • Ensure a systematic and project management-driven approach to governance and compliance.
  • Stay current with public procurement regulations and ensure best practices are implemented throughout the procurement function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in public sector procurement governance and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the new Procurement Act and public procurement regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement policies, processes, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in developing team capabilities.
  • Familiarity with procurement cycle times, compliance metrics, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage user compliance and develop promotional material for procurement functions.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on systematising procurement governance.
