Your new companyYou will be working for a London-based import/export agent, specialising in the supply of high-quality ingredients used by UK manufacturers. The founder and company are extremely passionate about supplying high-quality ingredients free of artificial additives and ultra-processed ingredients. Your new roleYou will be working as a Senior Buyer in the London-based procurement team, procuring a range of foods from the UK, Europe, China and Japan. This role will be responsible for managing a range of well-developed and ongoing supplier relationships in China and Japan, alongside driving forward new UK and EU suppliers. You will be responsible for driving the development of the Cheese category internally. This will involve sourcing new high-quality suppliers that align with the businesses' quality standards, and driving the commercial relationship forward. The company utilises the SAP ERP system. You will work with this daily to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and remedied where appropriate. What you'll need to succeedYou will need to have prior experience working in a food-buying role. Experience of sourcing food globally would be highly beneficial. Experience working in the Cheese/Dairy category would be highly beneficial and allow you to hit the ground running in this role. Prior experience working with ERP systems is critical, and if you have experience within SPA specifically, this would be highly beneficial. Due to the global nature of this role, a secondary language would also be a benefit (French, German or Dutch), but is not a pre-requisite. What you'll get in returnYou will receive a base salary of up to £40,000 p/a alongside 30 days of annual leave, a £2000 professional development budget (annually), and a discretionary company bonus. This role will require you to be in the office for 5 days a week during probation, after which you will work in a hybrid pattern.
