Position: Senior Planner

My client are a specialist Planning consultancy who are looking to grow their team of Planners due to increased workload. With a diverse portfolio of projects, they are at the forefront of urban development working on a range of sectors from hotels, leisure, heritage, retail, restaurants and more.

Role Overview: As a Senior Planner, you will play a crucial role in the Retail team in Central London. The role will involve a mix of trade, retail and warehouse schemes as well as food and retail parks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a variety of planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
  • Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and the public to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards chartership is desirable.
