Based in London's West End, they focus on prestigious super prime residential and luxury commercial developments in Mayfair, the Royal Boroughs, and other prime locations across the city. Their projects typically range in value from £10 million to £35 million, catering to the most discerning clients with exacting standards of craftsmanship, design, and quality.

Job Summary:

They are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will assist with the commercial and financial management of their luxury projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with senior quantity surveyors, project managers, and key stakeholders, supporting the seamless execution of super prime contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Cost Management & Estimation: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for luxury construction projects ranging from £10 million to £35 million.

- Contract Documentation: Help in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, procurement schedules, and other contractual paperwork.

- Valuations & Payments: Assist in the measurement and valuation of work done on-site, verifying contractor and subcontractor claims and preparing interim and final payments.

- Supply Chain & Procurement: Engage with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and terms, while maintaining the quality and exclusivity required for super prime projects.

- Cost Reporting: Monitor and report on project costs, variations, and expenditure, preparing detailed cost reports for senior management and clients, ensuring accurate cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

- Site Visits & Inspections: Attend site visits to measure, value, and inspect works in progress, ensuring all work complies with the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.

- Risk Management: Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, ensuring all potential issues are managed proactively.

- Client Liaison: Support senior quantity surveyors in maintaining clear and professional communication with clients, ensuring transparency in costs and variations.

- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations, health & safety standards, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

- Industry Experience: 1-2 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the luxury or high-end construction sector. Prior experience with high-value residential or commercial projects is a plus.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and industry-standard cost management software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).

- Numerical & Analytical Abilities: Strong numerical, financial, and analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, able to present financial data clearly to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders.

- Problem-Solving: Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise.

- Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational abilities, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while also being able to work independently.
