Responsibilities for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the preparation and management of project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
  • Support the review and negotiation of contracts, including subcontractor agreements.
  • Measure and value work on-site, ensuring that project financial targets are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
  • Work closely with senior commercial staff and project managers to provide accurate financial forecasts.


Requirements for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (e.g., HND, BSc).
  • Previous experience working on infrastructure or civil engineering projects, ideally within the highways sector.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
