Job Description
  • Provide assistance for delivery of all cost, commercial and quantity surveying matters on designated projects from inception to completion.
  • To assist in the delivery of projects on budget in full accordance with Council and Service procedures.
  • Provide cost, feasibility and quantity surveying advice to Project Managers
  • All other duties commensurate with the grade.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that plans are in place and continually up dated to achieve Service objectives and priorities..
  • Actively assist and take ownership for designated detailed project commercial reports and maintain up to date at all times.
  • Ensure that all project related risks and issues are identified to the Council.
  • To carry out the necessary professional duties to effectively manage and coordinate commercial and cost matters on projects designated as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • To contribute and implement professional quantity surveying practice and procedures within Capital Programme Works Service.
  • Assisting the Principal Quantity Surveyor on the relationship management of key partners, suppliers and other core third parties, as applicable
  • Be active and responsible in compliance with Service procedures and professional practice development in Capital Programmes Projects to ensure the maintenance and improvement of knowledge and capabilities
Requirements
  • Working towards MRICS or MCIOB or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional developmentConstruction/Property related degree or extensive experience
Contract
  • Initial 3-to-6-month ongoing contract
  • PAYE via Umbrella
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Hybrid position)
