About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working on high-profile data centre construction projects across London. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technical environment with significant potential for career progression.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in delivering cost-effective and high-quality construction solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management:

    • Assist in preparing, monitoring, and managing project budgets.
    • Perform cost analysis and provide cost-saving strategies.
  • Procurement Support:

    • Assist in tender preparation and the procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
    • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Contract Administration:

    • Support the preparation of contracts and manage variations, claims, and final accounts.
    • Maintain accurate records of valuations, payments, and project costs.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor project progress and ensure financial risks are minimized.
  • Reporting:

    • Assist in preparing detailed financial and progress reports for internal and client stakeholders.
    • Provide input for cash flow forecasts and budget reviews.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
    • Foster relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role, preferably within data centre, MEP, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
