Associate Highways Quantity Surveyor

Due to rapid growth, we're looking for a dynamic Associate Highways Quantity Surveyor to join our team!

This is a full-time permanent role, hybrid working with 2 – 3 days in your local London office.

In this exciting role you will collaborate with the Technical Director to develop and implement our strategic plan for the Cost Consultancy Service within Highways and Transport. You will promote this professional service to clients within the region and work together with other directors and account managers to develop new business opportunities.

What you will be doing:

  • Grow and develop the business offering to develop the business ability and develop a stream of individuals from the engineering team.
  • Preparation of tender documents and oversee the tender process for our clients
  • Production and checking of bills of quantities of junior staff members to enable development of a skill set within the business
  • Produce life cycle cost plans, risk registers including costings, value engineering and value management reports, tender evaluations and tender reports
  • Evaluation of contractual claims
  • Develop proactive and robust commercial processes to enable effective cost control, including contract administration, risk management, payments and change control
  • Preparation of final accounts

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor
  • NEC 4 or Similar
  • Strong understanding of principles and sector knowledge.
  • Local Authority Highways projects/transport/infrastructure experience
  • Strong understanding of the Local Transport market in the UK.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement and contract administration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical/industry/TFL standards
