My client is a well-established, profitable and privately owned Construction Main Contractor who successfully deliver projects within the heritage and conservations sectors. Their current portfolio of clients includes the occupiers of many of Londons most revered landmark buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a business dedicated to preserving these locations.

Due to planned growth, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to their expanding preconstruction team to support the planned growth of the business.

Previous experience of Heritage and Conservation projects is not essential, as training and support will be provided from the experienced team who love what they do. Experience of estimating for a recognised main contractor will give all the skills that are needed.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heritage refurbishment projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and submissions.

Desired Competencies & Training:

  • A desire to work within the Heritage and Conservation refurbishment sector.
  • Experience as a Construction Estimator.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
