Salary: 100,000 to 120,000 + package
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent main contractor known for delivering high-profile, complex construction projects across Central London. In this pivotal role, the Managing Quantity Surveyor will take full ownership of commercial management, driving financial success, and leading a talented team while advancing within this dynamic, fast-growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll quickly become a key player within the commercial team, managing multiple projects including high rise residential towers, mixed use developments and luxury homes where contract values range from 50m to 250m. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive Budget Ownership: Oversee project budgets with rigorous cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting to meet and exceed commercial targets.
- Claims & Dispute Resolution: Take a strategic approach to claims and dispute management, protecting the contractor's commercial interests and effectively navigating contract complexities.
- Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative culture and lead teams toward commercial success, promoting individual growth and high performance.
- End-to-End Commercial Management: Oversee the complete commercial management of significant projects, ensuring that all commercial activities adhere to contract governance standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary commercial point of contact, maintaining transparent communication and confidently leading negotiations.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Implement robust procedures and work with project teams to minimize disputes and liabilities, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will need to demonstrate:
- In-Depth Project Knowledge: Expertise in the full project lifecycle of large, complex building schemes.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years working with a Tier 1 main contractor in a similar role.
- Claims Management Skills: Proficiency in claims management and dispute resolution.
- Leadership Abilities: Strong capability to mentor junior team members and drive high project performance.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills and confidence when interacting with clients and stakeholders.
