Role: Managing Quantity SurveyorLocation: Central London (Office/Site Based)Package: £90,000 to £115,000 + package An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an established, family-owned main contractor working across the capital. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of their busy commercial team delivering exciting projects with London's residential, regeneration and hotel sectors. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will undertake a key role in ensuring the sound commercial management of multiple high-profile construction projects, often with contract sums of more than £50m each. You will be leading and managing teams throughout the full construction life cycle, ensuring financial and commercial targets are met whilst also being responsible for upholding best practices within cost control, contract management and dispute resolution. Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
- Prepare and present detailed Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and other financial analyses.
- Lead the dispute resolution and claims management processes
- Undertake contract administration and valuation duties
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maximising commercial opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, acting as the primary commercial contact.
- Lead and mentor multiple commercial and project teams, promoting professional development and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, contracts, and internal governance policies.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive departmental success.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial and performance reports to senior leadership.
Managing Quantity Surveyors considering applying will need to be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the full construction process and come from a main contracting background. You'll need experience in Dispute Resolution, Sub Contract Management and Project Management alongside excellent communication skills, a drive to continue to develop your career and enjoy working on complex construction projects.
