An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor to oversee large construction projects in and around London. My client is at the forefront of multiple million developments and has a reputation for driving innovation and excellence throughout their projects.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role as commercial lead in the successful delivery of an exciting project in some of London's most dynamic locations along with scope to work on other high-profile projects in the future. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, ensuring cost control, and maximising profitability. Utilising your expertise with contracts, you will provide strategic guidance and support to the project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the commercial team to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the projects in hand.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors whilst ensuring costs fall within pre-agreed budgeting.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient contract administration and compliance.
  • Lead procurement activities, including tendering and contract negotiation.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
  • Analyse project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.


Requirements

  • Notable experience running and delivering large scale projects successfully. (50 million +)
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a similar construction environment (main contracting)
  • Degree / HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or another relevant subject.
  • Registered with the RICS / CICES and/or working towards professional chartership - preferable
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC & JCT) and standard methods of measurements
  • Commercial astute with notable experience working on multimillion building construction projects.
