Project Manager Job Specification

Position: Project Manager
Location: London
Project: North Quay Infrastructure – Deep Drainage and Utility Works

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of project management, ensuring the timely completion of drainage infrastructure, utility networks, and associated civil works.
  • Create, manage, and monitor detailed project programs to ensure efficient sequencing of works, adherence to deadlines, and alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate site operations, including liaison with trade contractors and adherence to phasing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including Building Safety Act 2022 requirements.
  • Develop and implement detailed construction methodologies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as Thames Water, DLR, and local authorities for approvals and inspections.
  • Manage quality assurance, including inspection records, testing, and commissioning of completed works.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, risk assessments, and program updates.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in deep drainage and utility works.
  • Demonstrable expertise in program creation and management, ensuring project milestones are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and environmental regulations.
  • Competency in design coordination and adherence to detailed construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors, designers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with advanced construction software and electronic task management systems (e.g., ASite, Dome Connect).
  • Ability to manage complex logistics, including storage constraints and craneage.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
  • Accreditation in relevant safety standards (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) advantageous.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working in mixed-use development projects.
  • Knowledge of DLR engineering and Thames Water vibration standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to ensure high standards of work.
