My client, who is a reputable D&B Principal Contractor, and Specialist Fitout and Refurbishments Sub Contractor, is seeking a Project Manger with a carpentry and joinery background to work on a 9m project in Victoria.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the control and delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages to meet customer requirements (quality, cost, time, etc.) such that all health and safety, budget, quality, risk, programme, customer and business objectives are met in full.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Project manage the delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages from initial set up through to handover and completion.
  • Manage site managers/supervisors, direct labour and subcontractors; monitor site management activities and provide direct assistance and support as necessary
  • Ensure that RAMS and QA documents are written to meet requirements of the project and employer.
  • Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the packages.
  • Be responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff and sub-contractors
  • Adopt, uphold and manage prescribed operation procedures.
  • Create and sustain a culture and working environment that drives employee satisfaction.
  • Communicate with Construction Director / Quantity Surveyors to ensure that all necessary correspondence related to the project is issued & responded to.
  • Ensure that all additional work is identified, fully costed and agreed with the customer.
  • Ensure that materials and resources are procured, delivered and managed in such a way that promotes the smooth delivery of each works package.
  • Carefully manage resources in order to best facilitate programme requirements on all live projects.
  • Appreciate and understand the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these within decision making.
  • Maintain contact details for labour resources pool
  • Assist in recruitment of labour
  • Manage liaisons, interfaces and contact with customers and stakeholders such that positive and ongoing customer relationships are maintained.
