Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor looking to take your next step on a high-value residential development project?About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading residential development with a construction value of over £1 billion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial team in managing costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, from early stages to completion.
- Assist with the procurement process for packages, working closely with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts to ensure project profitability.
- Carry out detailed cost analysis, assessing materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing, ensuring value for money while maintaining strong relationships.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to avoid cost overruns.
- Assist senior surveyors and managers in the preparation of reports, valuations, and change orders.
- Contribute to the management and mentoring of junior team members, helping to develop their skills and knowledge.
What You Need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, within the residential or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations, with particular emphasis on large-scale developments.
- Experience using relevant software tools (Excel, project management systems, etc.).
- Good attention to detail with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
