Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge with a busy, growing Tier 2 main contractor? Based in London, this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and expanding team working on a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects.
With a competitive salary package of £65-70K plus benefits, you’ll be part of an ambitious contractor with a strong portfolio of high-profile projects in residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing project costs, maintaining budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial aspects of both new build and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
- Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims with clients and subcontractors.
- Provide accurate and timely cost reports and forecasts.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
About You:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment, ideally with exposure to both new build and refurbishment projects.
- Solid knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.) and cost management practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to managing costs and risks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
- Experience using cost management software and MS Office.
