Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to make a meaningful impact in the social housing sector? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality services within the community.

Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective commercial management of housing projects, focusing on delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost control. Working closely with the Commercial & General Manager, you will oversee a range of commercial activities, from managing subcontractor agreements to preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage specifications and scope of works for housing projects.
  • Oversee commercial work in progress (WIP) and cost liabilities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate client applications and payments, including the management of aged debt.
  • Generate and analyse cost and value reports to support project decision-making.
  • Manage subcontractors, including rate negotiations, procurement, payments, and systems management.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and provide required commercial information.
  • Identify and price new work opportunities and tenders.
  • Line manage a small team of up to 3 individuals.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial role within the social housing sector, ideally with exposure to voids and repairs business streams.
  • Proficient in working with pricing agreements and frameworks within a TPC contract, with a strong understanding of the NHF Schedule of Rates.
  • Experience in measuring works, generating, and agreeing on applications, as well as validating subcontractor quotations and variations.
  • Proven track record in managing supply chain partners effectively.
  • Strong financial reporting and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent numeracy, communication, and IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
