Generally, the contracts are within the M25 and the ideal candidate should be no further away than a 45-minute drive from the East London office.Your new roleAs a permanent Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts, from procurement to interim and final account agreement.
  • Attending monthly CVR meetings to present the current financial situation on projects and producing accurate cashflow forecasts.
  • Overseeing the commercial administration and management on live projects or projects at the pre-construction phase.
  • Managing and controlling subcontract orders, accounts, and variation accounts in line with the main contract and subcontract database.
  • Developing an understanding of all designated contracts, specifications, and pricing to ensure compliance with conditions throughout the contracts.
  • **Completing remeasurements on all trades to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.**
  • Reporting to a Senior Surveyor and collaborating with the project team to ensure successful project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A HNC or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to remeasure accounts on all trades.
  • Proficiency in producing bills of quantities from drawings.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the supply chain and/or external clients to maximise profit.
  • High level of numeracy and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work well within a team
