We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor working on a high-profile project within the water sector on behalf of the client;Thames Water. This position offers hybrid working, allowing you the flexibility to work from home one day a week, with the rest of the week split between the office (based in Maidenhead, Liverpool Street, or Reading) and on-site visits.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing costs and contracts for key water infrastructure projects. The role requires experience in the civil sector, with a preference for candidates who have previously worked on water projects. Groundworks experience would also be highly beneficial. With the project operating under the NEC contract, strong knowledge and experience in NEC contract management are essential.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor:

  • Managing and monitoring project costs from initial estimates through to final accounts
  • Engaging with clients and the project team to ensure cost-effective project delivery
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with NEC contract terms
  • Conducting site visits as needed to monitor project progress and costs
  • Collaborating with office and on-site teams to streamline project costs and processes
  • Attending regular meetings with both the client and project teams

Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil sector
  • Experience in water sector projects is preferred, with groundworks experience a plus
  • Essential knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and teams
  • Available to start immediately as interviews are actively underway
