Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our client in construction. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This position requires an individual who is adept at cost control and has a strong understanding of the construction industry. The Quantity Surveyor will ensure that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.

  • Monitor project progress and costs, implementing effective cost control measures as necessary.

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication regarding project specifications and costs.

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and compliance with contracts.

  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as they arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to the project.

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable. A minimum of 2 years.

  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.

  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
