Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure Development

Salary: 65,000 - 75,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in the infrastructure sector. This is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on role in delivering commercial success for high-profile projects in the rail, utilities, power, and renewables industries. You will manage projects from tender stage through to completion, with the opportunity to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Oversee all commercial aspects of infrastructure projects, from tender to contract completion, ensuring profitability through margin optimisation and effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Contract Management: Manage NEC and bespoke contracts, including formulating and negotiating contract variations, claims, and ensuring agreement with clients.
- Project Oversight: Provide full autonomy over portfolio projects, managing multiple contracts and client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time.
- Sub-contractor Management: Appoint and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and driving performance.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, handling negotiations and managing client expectations to secure project success.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications: Ideally, a degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant commercial/construction subject, and a membership or working towards professional qualification (RICS/CIOB).
- Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in managing multi-million-pound infrastructure projects, with a focus on rail, utilities, power, and renewables.
- Solid experience with NEC and bespoke contracts.
- Proven track record in commercial management, contract negotiations, and client-facing responsibilities.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering successful outcomes.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Ability to read, interpret, and measure construction drawings.
- Experience with complex Excel and Word tasks; basic knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of contract law and its application in the construction industry.
