Job Advert: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Forest Hill / Dartford, London

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Extensive Benefits Package (including Car Allowance)

We are currently recruiting for 2 x Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier One Property Services Contractor on a long-term framework with a local authority. Now 3 years into a 10-year program, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work on high-value social housing external refurbishment projects.

The Role

You will be working on planned refurbishments, including roofing repairs, windows, balustrades, external wall insulation (EWI), and recladding, with individual project values ranging from £500k to £6m. You will have the flexibility to base yourself in either Forest Hill or Dartford, with the option to work from home one day per week.

This role is perfect for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or an Assistant QS looking to step up, as you will be responsible for the line management of an Assistant QS and report directly to a Managing QS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial aspects of refurbishment projects, ensuring budgets are met and cost control is maintained
  • Oversee subcontractor payments and prepare valuations
  • Work closely with site teams and Managing QS to ensure project delivery
  • Ensure accurate reporting and contract management on all projects
  • Play a key role in delivering social housing refurbishments, helping to improve local communities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within refurbishment or social housing projects
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with strong financial and contract management skills
  • Ready to take on responsibilities from day one, with line management experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with site teams, clients, and contractors
