We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable contractor delivering major substation and power projects valued between 30m and 70m. Based in Barking, this role offers hybrid working and a competitive day rate outside IR35.
About the role of Quantity Surveyor
You will be a key part of the commercial team, managing cost control, procurement, and contractual agreements for large-scale substation and power projects. With a hybrid working setup, you will have the flexibility to balance time between site, office, and remote work while ensuring financial efficiency across the projects.
Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor:
- Oversee the commercial management of substation and power projects.
- Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasts, and budgets.
- Support subcontractor procurement and account management.
- Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and manage financial risks.
- Track project costs and variations, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to maintain financial control.
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:
- Experience in the power, energy, or infrastructure sector, ideally in substations.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control.
- Ability to manage multiple commercial processes effectively.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Excel and cost management tools.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration.
