Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial aspects of London-based projects

  • Prepare and submit monthly Applications for Payment (AFP)

  • Manage project variations and implement effective change control procedures

  • Monitor and analyse monthly cost reports to prepare accurate month-end reports

  • Attend meetings as required to facilitate or finalise project accounts

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

  • Develop familiarity with standard contract forms, including but not limited to NEC3 and JCT

  • Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions with clients and contractors

  • Prepare subcontract agreements, assess subcontractor valuations, and certify interim and final payments

  • Optimise cash flow through diligent control, measurement, valuation of work, invoicing, and cash collection

  • Receive ongoing training and support to promote professional growth

  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Commercial Manager

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC, or NVQ in Quantity Surveying (Preferred)

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience (Preferred)

  • Applicants without formal qualifications may also be considered

  • Understanding of electrical systems is beneficial but not essential

  • Strong proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • Methodical approach and eagerness to learn proactively
