The team works on a diverse range of complex and exciting projects, and are now looking to expand with a skilled Quantity Surveyor who has a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems. Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the financial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects, with a focus on M&E services across different sectors. You will ensure that projects are delivered within budget, while also maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Your role will involve liaising with project teams, clients, and contractors, offering commercial expertise to support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the cost planning and commercial control of construction projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and more.
- Provide specialist expertise in the M&E aspects of projects, ensuring value engineering and cost efficiency in the design and delivery of these systems.
- Prepare tender documentation, cost estimates, and bills of quantities for M&E and general construction works.
- Monitor project budgets, tracking costs, and managing variations or changes to contracts as needed.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate and agree on contracts, ensuring all parties meet their obligations.
- Oversee the procurement of M&E packages, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
- Produce detailed financial reports and forecasts, highlighting any risks or opportunities to senior management.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensuring all works meet agreed-upon standards and project specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong focus on M&EÂ services.
- Experience working on a variety of projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, with the ability to manage complex mechanical and electrical packages within broader construction projects.
- Excellent commercial management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to manage the contractual, financial, and administrative elements of construction projects, including handling variations and claims.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in managing relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional membership of RICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
