Quantity Surveyor required for a major offshore wind developer based in England.

Responsibilities.

  • Providing support to the procurement process, commercial management of contracts during the execution phase and commercial/claims management for the delivery of contract final account agreements.
  • Provide support/input into quantity surveying, contract/commercial management of allocated activities/projects.
  • Agree with the Work Package Manager /Procurement Lead(s), the contract strategy for project(s) and assist in facilitating timely and efficient implementation.
  • Commercially administering allocated contracts ensuring contract compliance thought the project(s) lifecycle.
  • Provide robust cost management including accurate live forecasting and actual costs v's estimates.
  • Feedback price points, lessons learnt etc to the project team.
  • Leading project cost/commercial discussions and attending progress reviews where necessary.
  • Identifying and recommending mitigating actions on all commercial risk / opportunities at the earliest possible time.
  • Managing risk and ensuring first class corporate governance by working closely and collaboratively with the wider project delivery teams to mitigate or transfer appropriate commercial risk as it relates to contractual terms and conditions, while maximising the opportunities for the project(s) to deliver on their goals.
  • Provide contractual advice and guidance to Procurement Lead(s) to ensure the contracting chain operates effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven track record delivering high value on and offshore projects on time and to budget.
  • Substantial contract negotiation / delivery experience.
  • Previously assisted in the successful delivery of high value and high risk projects.
  • Experience supporting front end/early works procurement / closing of commercial agreements.
  • Experience seeing these agreements through to fulfilment and final account stages.
  • Experience in supporting claims processes with in house and external legal advisors that arise during or post project completion.
  • Recognised degree or equivalent professional qualifications and experience.
  • Good working knowledge in contract management including FIDIC, LOGIC, NEC3 contracts.
  • Excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact successfully with executives, technical teams and senior management as well as work with demanding internal clients and external customers.
  • Able to both works independently and resourcefully as part of a wider project team whilst under pressure.
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
