Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Remote (with occasional visits to Windsor and Belfast)
Project: 150M Student Accommodation New Build, Belfast

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the financial management of a significant 150M student accommodation new build project in Belfast. This is a remote working role with occasional site visits to Belfast and coordination meetings in Windsor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting, ensuring the project is delivered within budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Oversee and manage the cost planning, budgeting, and financial control of the project from inception to completion.

Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage procurement processes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Valuations and Variations: Prepare and review valuations, assess variations, and agree on final accounts with contractors and subcontractors.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate financial impact on the project.

Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete assessments, for senior management and stakeholders.

Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, including the Project Manager, Design Team, and contractors, to ensure the project is delivered within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Site Visits: Conduct occasional site visits to Belfast to monitor progress, verify work completed, and ensure alignment with project cost objectives.

Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with key stakeholders, including the client, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and resolution of financial issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field; MRICS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably within the student accommodation or residential sectors.

Skills: Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement, and cost management techniques. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Technology: Proficiency in relevant QS software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
