Spencer & James Recruitment are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor, with experience working on Planned works projects within the social housing sector.

As a Quantity Surveyor, within this team you will manage the project commercial aspects, oversee a Commercial Assistant, preparing monthly CVR's / VCR's, submit client applications, and handle commercial reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance Project Performance: Promote and support project team performance by ensuring key contractual obligations and strategies are effectively executed and reviewed regularly.
  • Cost Management: Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and progress reports, ensuring efficient cost control and maximizing project value.
  • Tender Strategies: Understand and apply both internal and external tender strategies, working towards achieving the planned profit targets.
  • Valuations & Cash Flow:Coordinate with stakeholders to agree on external valuations and manage cash flow to enhance project value.
  • Final Accounts:Work alongside the Commercial Manager to finalize main and subcontract accounts.
  • Subcontract Management: Ensure all subcontract management processes are completed, focusing on procurement, measurement and valuation, issuing contractual instructions/notices/orders, and maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • You will ideally have 3+ years experience at a Main Contractor working on Planned works
  • A strong understanding of NHF SOR's
