We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join theirteam in either Potters Bar or Barking to cover their London and Home Counties contracts within the M25.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in successfully delivering theirprojects. You will establish, implement, and manage pre- and post-contract commercial and procurement management systems and procedures. Reporting to the Senior/Chief Quantity Surveyor, you will evaluate, negotiate, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks for theircontracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage pre and post-contract commercial and procurement management systems and procedures.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks for contracts.
  • Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender documents.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
  • Monitor and track project costs and report any variations.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final valuations.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost advice and reports to the Senior/Chief Quantity Surveyor and project team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the civil engineering or utilities sector
  • CSCS certification is required
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
