Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: West London

Cobalt Recruitment are working with a leading UK-based construction and development company focuses on building sustainable, high-quality homes and urban regeneration projects. They partner with housing associations, local authorities, and private landowners to deliver residential and mixed-use developments, with an emphasis on affordability and environmental sustainability.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cash flow, control costs, and maximize project profitability across mixed-tenure construction schemes. You will work closely with the Production & Technical teams to mitigate risks and ensure financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce contract sum analysis and manage cash flow to ensure a minimum of 10% overvalue.
  • Prepare and issue valuations, ensuring timely payments and positive cash position.
  • Manage subcontractor orders, valuations, and final accounts, adhering to agreed terms.
  • Ensure timely procurement and payment schedules are met.
  • Oversee and report on costs, financial projections, and subcontractor accounts.
  • Collaborate with teams to review designs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications (Quantity Surveying, Construction degree/HND/HNC).
  • Membership of MCIOB or RICS preferred.
  • Proven experience in Contract/Quantity Surveying, construction budgets, and techniques.
  • Strong commercial background, ideally with residential or contractor experience.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, H&S requirements, and value engineering.
  • Experience with Piling, Groundworks, RC Frame, and Brickwork remeasurement.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and people management skills.

Remuneration: £70,000 - 90,000 + benefits & bonus
