Talented Senior Quantity Surveyor required on a permanent or freelance basis

We are using all the avenues we have at our disposal to resource an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. We represent a main contractor who offers a first class building service to the prime central London residential market. The company enjoys a gilded history with an impressive array of past schemes that form its portfolio of new build, restoration, refurbishments and fit out projects. They specialise in heavy structural alterations to grade 1 and 2 listed building, incorporating exquisite materials, opulent design and installing highly developed bespoke fine-finishes to zero tolerances.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be involved on schemes from 10m - 40m in value, based around Central & North London and will undertake both pre and post contract commercial duties. The Senior Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:

  • Sub-contract procurement for all project packages
  • Management of subcontract accounts.
  • Negotiation of sub-contract terms and conditions.
  • Monthly valuations
  • Profit planning.
  • Identification and valuation of variations.
  • Claims notification and generation.
  • Detailed monthly cost / value reporting.
  • Final Account settlement
  • Responsibilities for managing and mentoring junior colleagues.

Background of the Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have a background and be extremely competent at bringing in a project to commercial budgets.

  • Main contracting background within the London market
  • Some experience of residential or commercial refurbishments
  • Ideally experience on grade listed buildings (not essential)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commercially and technically competent.
