Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: London (Westminster)
Day Rate: £400/day outside IR35 (Negotiable for the right candidate)
Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for rolling extensions)
Project: 4-year security & fire maintenance framework
The Client?
We are working with an internationally renowned Main Contractor, a leader in UK infrastructure, with a multi-billion-pound order book for the next decade. They specialise in delivering large-scale projects across water, highways, construction, and rail, and offer an environment where professional growth is actively supported.
The Role?
This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in maintaining and securing the iconic Houses of Parliament. Working on this historic and high-profile site, you will oversee subcontractor packages within an NEC (Option A) contract framework, focusing on cost management, forecasting, and managing change events.
With a guaranteed annual budget of £4 million - £5 million, this project offers long-term stability and the chance to contribute to the preservation of a building of national significance. Safe to say it’s importance speaks for itself…
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you’ll step into a senior leadership role, mentoring junior team members and guiding the broader commercial team to success.
Skills?
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in security & fire maintenance, facilities management, or government asset maintenance.
You should be adept at managing subcontractors, preparing accurate forecasts, and demonstrating strong leadership skills. Leadership abilities are key, as you will be mentoring other Quantity Surveyors and supporting the wider commercial team.
