  • The position requires 5 or more years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in residential construction, preferably with a developer, and a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting accurate build cost assessments, managing budgets, preparing tenders, and overseeing subcontract accounts through to completion.
  • The successful candidate will also produce monthly cost reports and attend regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure agreement on accounts is achieved.
  • This role offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and is ideal for someone looking to join an established team with the support of a Managing Surveyor.

We are working with the London business of a top tier national Developer.They have an ongoing Multiphase development in West London with currently circa 400 units and Phase 2 (c.40M) starting in around 12 months. You are joining an established team with the oversight and support of a Managing Surveyor.Your role entails:

  • Carrying out accurate build cost assessments; maintaining budget control throughout development; and managing cost overruns within tolerance levels.
  • Accurate costing and preparation of budgets for each aspect of site development.
  • Analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow vs budget
  • Preparing tenders and procuring subcontractors, goods and materials
  • Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.
  • Using a payments system for the payment of subcontractors and the supply of goods and materials in line with group policy and procedures.
  • Management of subcontract accounts through to completion including valuations, payments, variations, forecast final accounts and contractual correspondence.
    Submission of interim applications for payment on time.
  • Produce monthly cost reports on time, in conjunction with Project Managers - to ensure that the true position is reported at all times.
  • Attend regular meetings with key stakeholders to ensure account agreement is progressed.


You will have:

  • A Degree (or equivalent)
  • 5 or more years PQE

Previous relevant experience in residential construction, ideally with a Developer
