My client are a leading enabling specialist contractor. Their portfolio includes complex projects ranging from 8-10 storey buildings involving soft strip and full demolitions, basement box working with a variety of structural elements such as metal frames, MEP systems, facades, waterproofing, and weatherproofing etc.

They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, working closely with the site team and ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of multiple demolition projects, ranging from £5-10 million in value.
  • Take full responsibility for the cost management of projects, including cost planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and statutory regulations.
  • Support junior team members and provide guidance, but be expected to manage your own projects independently.
  • Regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure financial and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with experience running your own projects.
  • Background: A civil engineering background is beneficial but not essential.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, ideally within demolition or construction sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of cost control and budget management.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance while also being a team player when needed.
  • Right attitude and industry savvy with a proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
