We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Molecular Imaging Technologist (Band 7) to join our Molecular Imaging team at The London Clinic, based at our main site in London (W1G 6BW). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £52,488 - £62,978 per annum.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities located in the heart of London's medical community around Harley Street. We have circa 1350 employees, and we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. The London Clinic offers a comprehensive Molecular Radiotherapy service, including radioiodine, PRRT, PSMA, Xofigo, and SIRT. We also have the only Rhenium-SCT service in the UK.

The Molecular Imaging department is about to undergo an equipment refresh, with a new PET/CT and SPECT/CT scheduled to go live in 2025, that will offer extensive training opportunities as well as exposure to the latest Molecular Imaging technology. The department is supported by a team of 5 technologists, HCA, and in-house physics.

Job Profile:

As a Senior Molecular Imaging Technologist, you will assist in the provision of a Molecular Imaging Servicing, including both PET/CT and SPECT/CT. You will be expected to support and work closely with the Molecular Imaging & Therapies Service Manager.

  • Job Type: Fixed Term (12 months), Full Time.
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday.
  • Job Location: The London Clinic, 22 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6JA.
  • Salary: £52,488 - £62,978 per annum

Key Duties:

  • Undertake routine and complex diagnostic PET CT & Nuclear Medicine investigations and maintain a high standard of technical skill, efficiency and patient care in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with the provision of an efficient service and to ensure that patients remain in the department for the minimum possible time, consistent with satisfactory clinical, technical and radiological requirements.
  • Prepare pharmaceuticals labelled with radioactivity under aseptic conditions for intravenous administration to patients.
  • Perform venepuncture and cannulation to administer radioactive substances whilst working under safe practices.
  • Provide routine advice to patients undergoing administration of radioactive materials as well as to staff or relatives providing care to such patients, to ensure the risks of exposure to ionising radiation are understood by the concerned parties.
  • Organise routine/urgent work to optimise and maintain the throughput of patients in the department
  • Ensure the performance of complex imaging equipment within Molecular Imaging is of sufficiently high quality for purpose by carrying out daily QA.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of two years post qualification experience in Molecular Imaging, with experience in PET/CT and SPECT.
  • Broad knowledge of routine and complex Nuclear Medicine Imaging techniques and radioisotope therapies.
  • To have good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines associated with Nuclear Medicine relating to Radiation Protection and Health & Safety.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in radiographic equipment and techniques and theranostics.
  • Working knowledge of IR(ME)R.
  • Working experience of Radiology Information Systems, MIM and PACS.
