Shipping Executive - Food Trade (this position is office based. No hybrid or WFH)

Located in the City of London, our client works in partnership with growers, processors, packers and exporters across the globe. They supply all sectors of the food industry, from large retail manufacturers, bakeries and cereal packers to smaller independent wholesalers and distributors. Many of their raw ingredients can be found in famous grocery brands, and some have been developed with them exclusively for a particular product offering.

You'll be inquisitive, diligent and have a strong commercial acumen. You will work well under pressure and have great attention to detail. You will thrive on challenges presented to you first thing in the morning, and at the end of the day when deliveries need to be met.

Essentials

• Experience in a global logistics / import – export (Containers 20' 40')

• Good understanding of import and export procedures in the UK and EU

• Strong command of Microsoft Excel Desirables

• Multilingual candidates stand at an advantage

• Degree educated

• Understanding of UK customs clearance processes Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the company’s containerised shipments from around the world

• Liaise with our customs agents and full-load haulier network to ensure our cargo is promptly customs cleared and delivered to our warehouses and customers

• Processing shipping invoices and monitoring logistics-based costs

• Process and check shipping documents, liaising with suppliers and customers across the world

• Ensure the company is obtaining the best prices and services from shipping lines, customs agents, hauliers and warehouses

• Arrange FOB and FCA shipment bookings with shipping lines (Incoterms desirable)
