Job Overview:

Marks Consulting Partners is recruiting for a Leasehold Specialist on behalf of a client based in South London. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in homeownership, leasehold management, and service charges, particularly in the context of social housing or residential property management. A key responsibility will be preparing and completing LPE1 reports for leasehold properties.

This position offers flexible working, with more time initially required in the office to familiarize yourself with the systems. Once settled, the role will transition into primarily home working, with just one or two office days each week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and complete LPE1 (Leasehold Property Enquiries) forms: Ensure all required information for property sales and leasehold enquiries is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Service charge management: Review, calculate, and report on service charges for leaseholders, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Leasehold management: Provide expert advice and assistance on leasehold matters, including lease extensions, disputes, and consultations.
  • Homeownership administration: Support with Right to Buy, Right to Acquire, and shared ownership processes.
  • Leaseholder communications: Liaise with leaseholders, buyers, solicitors, and internal teams, ensuring that enquiries are managed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the property management team to ensure leaseholder queries and service charge reconciliations are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records: Ensure that all information is properly documented and accessible within internal systems.
  • Work with IT systems: Learn and utilize internal property management software to ensure efficient workflow management.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of leasehold management, particularly in preparing LPE1 reports.
  • Experience with service charges: both reviewing and calculating service charges, and understanding relevant legislation.
  • Background in homeownership: including experience with shared ownership, Right to Buy, and other homeownership schemes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in handling complex leasehold issues.
  • Proficient in using property management software and Excel for reporting.
  • Experience working in the social housing or residential sector is highly desirable.
