This group of companies with diverse business interests within retail, hospitality and property have been established for over 50 years. Over the past 20 years there has been a dominant expansion of the group leading the company to purchase a number of retail park investment and development sites over the past 5 years.

As the Head of Commercial & Residential Property, you will report into the group CEO, manage a commercial and residential portfolio alongside a growing a franchisee restaurant business of over 200 sites in the UK across 5 brands.

With the full support of our Lawyers, Architects, Project Managers, Acquisitions/Rent/Rating Surveyors and Property Consultants, you will be responsible for estate asset management and property occupancy costs rent, rates, service charge, planning, remodelling, maintenance, utilities, licensing and compliance. Also overseeing the team of property managers responsible for their privately owned, residential property portofolio.

Some duties to include: -

  • Negotiation of LH and FH terms both commercial and residential
  • Reviewing HOT’s and negotiating the above terms
  • Build relationshops with Landlors, Agents, Developers and Brand Partners
  • Manage and motivate a team of property managers
  • Supporting staff to ensure tenants satisfaction and a compliant property management service
  • A good understanding of property maintenance and overseeing in house contractors as well as third party contractors
  • Lettings and management and a clear understanding of Assured shorthold tenancies
  • Maximising rental income and ensuring voids are kept to a minimum
  • Carrying out property inspections both planned and adhoc
  • Carrying out evictions and dealing with both the County Court and Bailiffs where necessary
  • Ensuring properties are well maintained and costs are well controlled

What we look for

  • Ideally Degree-level education in a relevant discipline
  • Ideally MRICS qualified, some experience in acquisitions and planning and/or proven track record in the food and beverage sector would be advantageous
  • A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the UK
  • Experience in negotiation and multi-tasking / project management
  • Highly organised and analytical with excellent ability to communicate effectively

This is a hybrid role, 2 days in the office with 3 days in the field or homeworking

Salary £60-70k per annum negotiable depending on skills and experience
