Job summary

This is an exciting role in the development of the operational estates for the future. To provide senior management of the Trust's Estates Operational Services provided by the Estates team based at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, delivering these services at the Royal Free Hospital and associated satellite sites. You will have the opportunity to develop this key role and the services you will be managing to ensure that the patient experience of our environment is first class.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Estates is the professional and technical lead for the Trust and will lead on all specialist aspects of Estates and Associated Operational Services; and is responsible for interpreting legislative and other requirements on Estates Operational issues for the Trust, including HTMs, HBNs and all other associated regulations and guidance.

You will direct the day-to-day operations of Estates Operational Services and develop these services in accordance with the Trust's corporate policies, strategies and vision, emphasising the cultural changes and innovations essential to modernising healthcare and an improved patient experience, this includes responsibility for planning and implementing service improvements and modernisation.

The role will require strong resources management and planning skills, using effective leadership to engage positively with the workforce and develop excellent staff survey results.

You will lead your team to manage and monitor all in house and contracted out services, particularly managing the performance of the Hard FM Services contracts ensuring compliance with statutory standards and recognised safe practices.

You will also play a key role in strategic and operational Estates change management programmes and key projects for the Trust, and ensure the Directorate achieves its roles and objectives.
