Accounts Payable Manager - Real Estate OUR CLIENT is an expanding and grounded, real estate investor, manager and developer with institutional backing. As they continue to go through a period of evolution and expansion, they have instructed us to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to take the helm of their payables function, overseeing daily operations and ensuring they are maximising their efficiency and to help the Accounts Payable team deliver accurate and timely payments to suppliers and deadlines - maintaining a robust and solid financial process. The role is based in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring regular liaison with all levels of stakeholders.
THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Accounts Payable Manager will include:
- Leading and supervising the purchase ledger team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and efficient workflow across the various companies within the group.
- Managing team priorities to deliver both BAU (business as usual) and process improvement.
- Producing policies and procedure manuals.
- Reviewing current processes for efficiencies and transformation opportunities to keep up with rapid growth and develop a best-in-class function.
- Ensuring payments are made in compliance with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) rules.
- Regularly reconciling supplier accounts and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to supplier payments.
- Managing and planning efficiency and resources to ensure demand is met and exceptional customer service provided internal and externally.
- Ensuring the integration between P2P and ERP systems is working effectively and fine honing.
- Supporting, developing, and maintaining service level agreements and KPIs to track, control, and improve performance.
- Developing the team and providing necessary associated training including objective-setting and conducting related appraisals.
- Providing wider support and training to the business, upskilling the wider business to ensure processes and procedures are being followed.
- Implementing impactful and insightful reporting to assist the senior leadership team.
- Assisting central finance with monthly accruals and prepayments, working with them to analyse monthly spend.
- Managing the quality of service provided to the wider business.
THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Accounts Payable Manager:
- Excellent team Leadership and proven team management capabilities with demonstratable experience in a similar supervisory role over at least 3 years.
- The proven ability to hit business deadlines.
- Experience of a property / real estate ERP (ideally property) and P2P systems and integration.
- Experience of implementing and monitoring of controls, processes and efficiencies.
- Experience of working in a multi-site organisation or ideally the property / real estate sector with hands on exposure to CIS etc.
