Client Details

The client is an all-boys private school for ages 4-11.

The client is looking for the right candidate to start for the new School year.

Description

* Manage the planned & reactive maintenance for the school, including liaising
with contractors and scheduling of work.
* Oversee the planning & reactive maintenance budgets under the direction of
the Bursar.
* Agree with the Head & Bursar improvement works for holiday periods,
following procurement procedures in appointing and then managing
contractors completing said works.
* Oversee the compliance of the School estate with health and safety and
building regulations, including completing checks personally or through others,
or engaging contractors, ensuring paperwork is completed.
* Oversee the day to day operation of the cleaning contract, liaising with the
cleaning company, problem solving and monitoring compliance.
* Monitor school critical systems such as heating, lighting, water, drainage and
other services including the reporting and resolution of failures or dangers.
* Test the fire alarm weekly and security systems and maintain records.
* Undertake minor repairs, maintenance and other work within the competence
of the individual.
* Ensure all equipment, safety equipment, implements and tools are in good and
safe working order.
* Ensure the presentation of the school grounds through regular sweeps of the
grounds (inside and out) to ensure they are clean and presentable, including
leaf blowing and litter picking.
* Resolve issues with the fabric of the building through the estates helpdesk.
Respond in a timely manner to ad hoc requests from staff to repair / maintain
equipment in the classrooms and wider estate
* Manage contractors on site during holiday periods.
* Undertake driving duties for school operations as directed by the School.
* Assist during school functions or lettings as required, and prior to school/public
relation events (e.g. open days, concerts, tours by visitors) ensuring that the
school is checked for tidiness, litter etc.
* Maintain security of the site, its buildings and facilities on a daily basis.
* Unlock and lock buildings at times stipulated and ensure fire safety doors are
closed.
* Maintain a detailed inventory of equipment, stock, and keys held on site

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Estates Manager role at Finton House School
will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
* Experience: Proven experience in estates management. Experience
working in an educational institution or nonprofit environment is
advantageous. Experience running tender processes for small works
is also advantageous.
* Professional qualifications: Proficiency in either plumbing and / or
electrics and / or carpentry is advantageous.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous and accurate in record keeping; able
to maintain and action 'to do' lists.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with
the ability to communicate clearly and calmly to all stakeholders.
* Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across
different departments.
* Software Proficiency: Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and
Outlook at a basic level of proficiency.
* Integrity: Demonstrates ethical behavior and ensures the security of
the school's assets.
* Adaptability: Capable of working in a dynamic environment and
adapting to changing priorities.
* Innovation: Capable of identifying, and helping to implement,
efficiencies and cost savings to the estate.
