A Housing Association is currently looking for a number of Service Charge Project Officers on a temporary basis for about 6 months.

Key responsibilities

You will work with stakeholders across the business including the dedicated Estate Operations Manager to review historic service charge accounts

Lead on the projects & be accountable for working through a defined number of service charge accounts that have been issued a Section 20b and seeing them through to audit and delivery within the 6-month period

Review any complaints and queries from residents to service charge accounts that have already been served

Support the Estate Operations Manager with engaging with residents and responding to any queries, documenting any decisions and lessons learnt

Essential experience

Significant experience of working compliantly with varying service charge regimes (variable), on large mixed tenure schemes

Significant experience of analysing and working through complex service charge accounts with ability to reconcile

Great problem-solving skills, able to work with stakeholders to get to a decision or outcome

Significant experience of analysing complex data and ability to present analysis to stakeholders to make business decisions

Significant experience of reading and understanding tenancy agreements & leases

Track record in delivering projects and meeting outcomes within set deadlines

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to explain service charge information in plain English to residents

Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel

Good knowledgeable on the RICS service charge residential code and ICAEW tech 03/11 and how to apply them

Good grasp of the Landlord and Tenant Act (1985), particularly around reasonableness (section 19)
